Arizona men’s and women’s swim and dive fall against ASU. The men’s team fell 73 to 227 and the women’s team lost 110 to 119. While ASU was in control for most of the day, a few particular Wildcats made great steps of their own.
Swimming
Women’s swimmers Lexi Duchsherer and Julia Wozniak achieved both personal and season bests for the team, with Duchsherer with a time of 22.19 in the 50-yard freestyle and Wozniak with a time of 49.25 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Men’s swimmers Haakon Naughton and Ralph Daleiden headlined the men’s outing. Naughton placed third in the men’s 100 with 46.58 and 200-yard butterfly with 1:45.20. Daleiden placed third in the 200-yard freestyle with 1:34.46. Both Naughton and Daleidan were crucial in the men’s third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:25.75.
Today was not a total loss for the Wildcats as the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay teams made the A-cut standard, securing them play in the NCAA Championship. The swimmers included Duchsherer and Wozniak along with Riley Botton and Alyssa Schwengel.
Diving
Arizona’s divers were the highlight of the event. Women’s Zara Ayazi and men’s Gage DuBois took first in both the one-meter and three-meter for their respective teams.
Women’s diver Brooke Earley placed second in the one-meter dive with 282.00 and three-meter dive with 333.68. Men’s diver Colin Agor placed second in the one-meter dive with 333.00 and third in the three-meter dive with 343.43.
