Volleyball players receive Pac-10 awards

Three UA volleyball players were recognized for their play during the 2008 season by the Pacific 10 Conference Monday.

Sophomore outside hitter Tiffany Owens was named to the All-Pac-10 Team's Honorable Mention, and freshmen Dana Hutchinson and Courtney Karst were tabbed as honorable mentions to the conference's All-Freshman Team.

Owens led the Wildcats with 333 kills on the season, 925 attempts and was second on the team in digs with 274. She was named National Player of the Week last week.

Hutchinson played in 94 sets this season, averaging .52 kills per set and 1.11 digs per set. Karst made similar contributions, playing in 64 sets, averaging 1.17 kills per set and .52 blocks per set.
