Erin Nurss is a UA student, but she's taking a year off from her master's of public health program to travel the state as Miss Arizona. It was Nurss' first time modeling, even though she was only on stage to show one dress for Pour Moi - she helped unzip the other models for the rest of the show. "I've been in Pour Moi a couple of times, and Zoe's," Nurss said. "I think after seeing some of the dresses today, I'm definitely going to frequent the other stores more often."

The show, which was emceed in part by local designer Tamara Mack, was heavy on trends. The most prevalent were scarves and shawls, bubble dresses, t-strap stiletto platform shoes, v-necks and wrap dresses.

Undeclared freshman Brianna Ezrre was chosen to model because she received the 2008 Sara Courtney Memorial Scholarship.

The runway was alive in Tucson on Saturday, but local boutiques were the highlight of the show.

The 12 Tucson-owned boutiques participating in the Women's 20-30 Club "Ring in the Holidays" fashion show and Sara Courtney Memorial Scholarship benefit showcased their wares on celebrity models that included Miss Arizona 2008 Erin Nurss and KOLD weekend anchor Teresa Jun.

The marketing team behind the event was made up of six retail and consumer science majors working on a class project.

"We've been helping with events all semester," said senior Sara Downie. "This is kind of like the big, final one."

The students sent press releases for the event, put up posters around campus and tried to draw in support from local businesses and from sororities and fraternities on campus, junior Lauren Maloney added.

The students got involved with the event by working with Zoe Boutique.

"We just thought of Zoe because we shop there and like it," Downie said.

All the women agreed working with Zoe and the 20-30 Club introduced them to new boutiques they didn't know much about previously.

"I've heard of Pour Moi before, but I had never been there before," Maloney said. "It's stuff like that."
