Review: 'Saw V' more disgusting than scary

Apparently crazed killers have morals.

The latest installment of the gruesome "Saw" horror series, "Saw V" features more disturbing games and screeching victims. In the new film, the message is a deadly lesson on teamwork.

Five connected strangers are kidnapped and forced into completing horrendous tasks by the serial killer known as Jigsaw. Meanwhile, the resilient Agent Strahm (Scott Patterson) uncovers a link between the killer and a vengeful officer, Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor).

The torture games can twist stomachs into impossible knots. It's like buying a ticket to test gag reflexes. The movie isn't scary; rather it's simply disgusting.

Blades and bombs fill Jigsaw's warehouse from hell, where even the walls pose a deadly threat. The storyline is lost in the gore.

The movie follows suit with Jigsaw's sick playgrounds in the rest of the series, only with new victims and devices. If that sounds scary, then "Saw V" makes a great Halloween thriller. If not, it makes for a really awkward date.
