ASUA is the Associated Students of the University of Arizona.

The Associated Students of the University of Arizona met this Wednesday, April 6, for a short and sweet meeting. The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. and adjourned at 6:19 p.m.

Senator-at-Large Jordan-Isaiah Toyos led the meeting in the absence of Executive Vice President Alexandra Devereux.

The Senators passed a motion to fund $3,200 for Fostering Success, which lowered the amount of funding they were previously requesting of $4,900. The $3,200 will go towards the cost of the room, food, a photo booth, decoration and graduation regalia.

The Senate’s remaining budget is $3,935 for the remaining semester, according to Sen. Toyos.

“Hopefully if anyone comes we still have that amount to give them,” Sen. Toyos said.

Honorable mentions

On Monday, April 4, the Senate voted to amend the constitution, as well as add more Senate seats. The new seats are for the College of Medicine in the Phoenix location, the College of Veterinary Medicine and the James E. Rogers College of Law.
