    Man to go back to prison after admitting drug possession

     

     A recently released state prison inmate faces a return to prison after admitting Monday in Jefferson County Court that he twice possessed controlled substances while incarcerated.

    Louie E. Rodriguez,28, Bronx, pleaded guilty to fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is expected to be sentenced May 16 to two years in prison, followed by an additional year of supervision upon his release.

    He entered his plea to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance using a partial Alford plea, meaning he did not admit to all of the underlying facts in the case, but was pleading guilty to avoid the possibility of receiving a stiffer sentence if found guilty at trial.

    He admitted that he possessed Suboxone Sept. 13 while incarcerated at Watertown Correctional Facility, but denied that he intended to sell it or give it to other inmates, as prosecutors alleged. He also admitted that he possessed amphetamines Dec. 17 at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where he was being booked in on the earlier charge.

    He was serving a sentence of up to 18 months for fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, but was released from state custody Dec. 17.

    In other court activity:

    Troyanna L. Bray,43, of 1020 Bronson St., Apt. 2, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. She is expected to be sentenced May 13 to two years in prison, followed by two years’ post-release supervision. She admitted selling cocaine Aug. 31 within the county.

    Jeniere K. Evans,27, address not confirmed, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is expected to be sentenced May 2 to two years in prison, followed by two years’ post-release supervision. He admitted trying to possess cocaine with the intent to sell the drug June 11 within the county.

    Jordan A. Evans,18, Watertown, admitted violating probation and was resentenced to a year in the PSB, with credit for an unspecified amount of time served. He admitted violating probation by being charged in July with providing alcohol to a minor and by failing to follow through with counseling recommended by his probation officer. Information about why he was serving probation was not available from the court.

    Dakota T. Bedore,17, Watertown, admitted violating probation and was resentenced to time served at the PSB. He was also restored to probation. He admitted violating probation by failing to follow through with counseling recommended by his probation officer. Information about why he was serving probation was not available from the court.

    Zavalier J. Cabrera,22, of 7609 Route 3Henderson, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape. Sentencing was set for May 23. He admitted that he had sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl Aug. 1 in the town of Adams.

    Antonio Reyes,25, Watertown, was sentenced to three years’ probation for Jan. 19 guilty pleas to second-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree criminal mischief and aggravated harassment. He admitted that on Sept. 12 in the town of Watertown, he entered the apartment of his estranged wife, Rachel, without permission and damaged a door and door jamb. He had also been charged with sending threatening text messages to her.
