A man was cited and released for disturbing the peace with threats and intimidation and for loitering at 2:15 p.m. Monday after a Parking and Transportation employee told him to leave, reports stated.
The employee told police he saw a red car parked in front of a parking meter at 1415 E. Fourth St. and saw the man standing outside of the car.
The employee recognized the man from previous contact and knew he had several outstanding parking citations, which makes his car eligible for towing and booting and forbids him from using any Parking and Transportation lots, reports stated.
The man didn’t have a parking permit for any lot, reports stated.
The employee told the man he couldn’t park in the lot and told him he had to leave the area or his car would be towed.
The man became angry and demanded a refund for the change he put in the meter, reports stated.
The employee told the man to move his car and the man yelled profanities at him and threatened to “”kick his ass, “” reports stated.
The man told the employee he would beat him so badly no one would recognize him.
The employee told the man he was calling the tow company and the man finally got inside his car, reports stated. As the man drove away he spat at the employee, who he missed by a couple feet.
The employee told a University of Arizona Police Department officer he felt threatened and wanted to press charges.
At 5:13 p.m. the same officer found the man’s car parked at 1627 E. Second St., reports stated.
Two dogs were in the vehicle and because of the 107-degree heat, police called animal control to take the dogs, reports stated.
The man came back to the vehicle a few minutes later and police canceled the call.
When asked about the incident, the man said the employee had “”started it”” by making fun of his U.S. Marine Corps sticker, reports stated.
The man responded to the allegations by saying, “”That’s bullshit.””
The man said he had a witness but was unable to contact him and said he had tried to call UAPD, reports stated. UAPD had no record of the call, reports stated.
The man was cited and released on the scene, reports stated.
A resident assistant told police she saw three males leave an unopened 24-pack of beer Monday night in the hall of Villa Del Puente Residence Hall, 575 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.
The RA told police she saw the males, whom she believed to be underage, at 11:47 p.m. before they ran eastbound.
The residence hall is currently housing incoming freshman for orientation and the RA believed the three males were probably incoming freshman, reports stated.
Police were unable to locate anyone in the surrounding area.
The beer was taken to UAPD and disposed of, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A maintenance employee reported finding graffiti on Monday on the east side of the Arizona Stadium, 525 N. National Championship Dr., reports stated.
The graffiti was spray painted in red and was located under a ramp, reports stated.
The graffiti covered an area 8 to 9 feet wide and 4 to 5 feet high.
The message consisted of an unknown symbol followed by the word “”LICK””, reports stated. Above, “”Cheap, Huh!”” was spray painted in 5-inch letters.
The graffiti could have happened any time before the employee reported finding it at 6:40 a.m.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A man was arrested for driving with a suspended license at 12:16 a.m. June 11 after police saw his car had no license plate lights, reports stated.
The man also had two confirmed warrants from the Marana Police Department and the Oro Valley Police Department.
Police were driving on North Euclid Avenue when they saw a white car pass them going the other direction, reports stated.
After seeing the car had no license plate lights, police turned around and, because of traffic, finally stopped the vehicle on the corner of North First Avenue and East Sixth Street.
A records check showed the warrants, and the man was arrested and transported to Pima County Jail, reports stated.
The man had asked a relative to come get the car but the relative never came and the car was secured by police, reports stated.
The keys were placed into property, reports stated.
