The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 4-2 in the 2022 NBA Finals to secure their fourth NBA Championship during the last eight seasons.

Former University of Arizona Wildcat and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is now a nine-time NBA Champion. Kerr played for the Wildcats from 1983-1988 and now has his #25 jersey retired in McKale Center. He won five titles as a player for the Chicago Bulls from 1996-1999 and with the San Antonio Spurs in 2003. Kerr has the forth most Championship victories from a coach in NBA history.

Andre Iguodala played at Arizona from 2002-2004 before being drafted No. 9 in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Iguodala has been a key part in this historic run by the Warriors throughout the past eight seasons while winning his forth title last night. He only played in 18 minutes during this years finals but made his presence felt by being a leader in the locker room.

The third former Wildcat to win another Championship tonight was Bruce Fraser. Fraser was a teammate of Kerr’s from 1984-1987 in Tucson where they developed a long lasting relationship. Fraser has been an assistant coach with Golden State since 2014 and has been a key part of their six trips to the NBA Finals.
