A man was cited for possession of cocaine March 10, reports stated.
Police saw two men in a wash near Sky View Apartments, 1050 E. Eighth St, at 8:35 a.m.
One of the men had two outstanding warrants from the Tucson Police Department for failure to appear in court. He had a blue bag and a black backpack. He told police both bags were his. He later said he had found the bags.
The blue bag contained two syringes. One appeared to contain blood and fluid and the other contained a white crystalline substance.
The backpack held a matchbox, which the man said he had found, and also contained a hammer. Police found two crystalline rocks in the box and asked the man what they were.
“”It looks like a crack rock,”” the man said.
The man was booked into Pima County Jail for possession of a narcotic and the warrants.
A man exposed himself to a student in front of the Student Recreation Center, 1600 E. Sixth St., March 9, reports stated.
The man stood between a bus stop and the windows on the north side of the Rec Center at about 6:20 a.m. and pulled his pants down.
A student was using a treadmill that faced the man. The student said the man stroked his penis for about 15 seconds and then ran eastbound on Sixth Street.
She said the man appeared to be white, between 20 and 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds.
The man was wearing a white shirt, blue shorts and a baseball cap.
A man was arrested for assaulting a police officer, domestic violence and possession of drug paraphernalia March 9, reports stated.
A University of Arizona Police Department officer went to help a TPD officer who was trying to arrest a man near North Campbell Avenue and East Adams Street at 10:02 p.m.
The man and the TPD officer were on the ground as the UAPD officer attempted to arrest the man.
The man continued yelling and kicking as the officers tried to restrain him.
He tried to bite and spit on the officers and said, “”I have AIDS.””
He was arrested by TPD.
A UA employee received a suspicious phone call March 9, reports stated.
A man called the employee on her work phone at 11:20 a.m. and said she was in the “”last stages of a $100,000 drawing.”” The man said he needed to verify her information, and she told him that she didn’t enter any drawings.
She told the man her husband may have entered the drawing. She gave him her home phone number and told the man to call her husband.
A ceiling projector was taken from the Harvill building, 1103 E. Second St., March 9, reports stated.
An employee noticed the projector was missing from Room 203 and believed it may have been removed between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The projector was valued at about $2,000 and was not scheduled to be removed from the room, a UA employee said.
A student’s vehicle was found burned and abandoned Feb. 24, reports stated.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office asked UAPD to check on the student March 9.
The student said she was all right and that the vehicle was stolen from the Tyndall Avenue Parking Garage, 880 E. Fourth St., Feb. 24 between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. She had not reported the stolen vehicle to police.
A student’s laptop was stolen from her room in Hopi Lodge Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fourth St., March 6, reports stated.
The student and her roommate said a friend of theirs frequently stays in the room and naps when they aren’t in the room. The roommate said the friend had been in the room when she left the room to go to a class at 2:49 p.m.
Another student said he saw a male student leave the room that day with a backpack.
A police officer called the student and asked him to meet to talk about the missing laptop. He told police he would and asked the officer to call him back. When the officer called him back, he didn’t answer.
The laptop was valued at about $2,000.
