    Eating like a hot chick

    Eating like a hot chick

Unlike many Hollywood types, authors Jodi Lipper and Cerina Vincent are encouraging women to eat whatever and whenever they want, an idea they discuss in their new book, “”How to Eat Like a Hot Chick.”” Interested in learning more? Lipper and Vincent will be visiting Gilbert this Saturday for a book signing and food-filled party at XS Salon and Spa.

“”The idea in their book really correlated with what we are always trying to tell our clients,”” said XS co owner Sayoko Grove. “”We all want to help women embrace who they are.””

The book focuses on ideas like “”eating what you love and loving how you feel,”” and aims to help women embrace their inner hot chick and feel good about themselves regardless of their shape or size, according to the press release.

“”They discuss everything from what kind of men a hot chick dates, to the idea that ‘hot chicks don’t pull Mary-Kates (as in Olsen, who suffered from anorexia),”” Grove said. “”Hot chicks don’t have low self esteem and starving is never the way.””

Grove encouraged college-aged women (and men!) to attend because she believes the younger generations can often be more influenced by the impossible standards of Hollywood.

“”It’s more important to get the message across to them than anyone,”” Grove said.

XS owner Dori Mead contacted the authors after seeing them on the Today show.

“”We’ve always anticipated doing book signings here, but this is our first one,”” Grove said. “”This is a way in which Dori and I can fulfill our first idea, outside of running a normal spa and salon.””

Grove said she expects approximately 75 people to attend the Saturday evening event, which she and Mead have been planning for about eight weeks. Both men and women are encouraged to attend, and the $25 ticket will get you in the event, a signed copy of the book, a chance to win a spa package, and some good food.

“”We based the menu off of their book,”” Grove said. “”Everybody’s really excited, Dori and I throw a great party.””

The original hot chicks will be signing copies of their book and mingling this Saturday from 7-10 p.m. at XS Salon and Spa, 2730 S. Val Vista Drive, #182, Gilbert, Arizona. Tickets are $25. To buy tickets or for more information, contact XS Salon and Spa at (480) 820-9797.
