The No. 12 Arizona women’s golf team could not duplicate Monday’s strong performance, falling three spots on the leader board to fifth place after 36 holes yesterday at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle.

Arizona shot a second round 25-over 313 and now has a two-round total of 38-over 614. The Wildcats are well behind tournament leader No. 17 Stanford, as the Cardinal ended play yesterday with a 24-over 600. No. 22 New Mexico shot a 25-over 601 and No. 2 ASU, who finished at 29-over 605, round out the top three.

Arizona’s best golfer has been junior Mary Jacobs. Her second-round 6-over 78 brings her tournament total to 7-over 151, good for a 12th-place tie.

Sophomore Amanda Wilson shot Arizona’s lowest second-round score, a 3-over 75, and is now in 20th place.

Entering the final round, sophomore Adriana Zwanck stands at 12-over 156, tied for 28th, ahead of junior Alison Walshe’s 13-over 157 (tied for 30th) and redshirt senior Rachel Gavin’s 20-over 164 (tied for 60th).

Stanford sophomore Mari Chun shot even par yesterday and is the tournament’s individual leader for the second consecutive day.

The tournaments final 18 holes will be played today. The teams will tee off at 10 a.m. on the par-72, 6,130-yard course.
