Ball State has taken all the air out of McKale Center as the Cardinals lead the Wildcats 38-29 at halftime.
The Cardinals took a 7-6 lead with 16:26 left in the half and didn’t look back from there. The Wildcats got within five with 2:51 left in the half but the Cardinals went on a 10-6 run to close out the half with a nine-point lead.
Arizona has been plagued by turnovers yet again, as the Wildcats committed 10 in the first half. Ball State has only turned it over once, resulting in 12 more shot attempts than Arizona.
The Cardinals hit seven three-pointers in the first half, led by three triples from guard Jauwan Scaife. Power forward Jarrod Jones leads all scorers with 12 points.
Kyle Fogg leads the Wildcats with 10 points. Kevin Parrom played his first minutes of the season after he was shot in late-September. Parrom scored two points and grabbed one rebound in five minutes of play.
For the second consecutive game Jordin Mayes started at point guard over freshman Josiah Turner. Turner has yet to see action tonight.
