A student was booked into Pima County Jail Saturday morning after a records check showed he had a warrant for his arrest from the police for failure to appear in court for underage drinking, reports stated.

University of Arizona Police Department officers responded to Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., after a resident assistant reported finding a bulletin board had been torn off the wall and placed on a recycling bin.

The estimated damage was $200, reports stated.

The RA had walked through the area at 2:45 a.m. and saw the board was undamaged, but when the RA returned at 3:15 a.m., the board was torn off the wall, reports stated.

The RA remembered seeing a male and female sitting on a couch nearby.

Police and the RA went to the male student’s room around 3:35 a.m., but no one answered the door, reports stated. The RA looked down the hall and saw the same male and female from earlier sitting on a couch in a study room.

The male student told police the bulletin board was already damaged when he had sat on the couch at 2 a.m. and said he did not see anyone suspicious in the area.

After he was told he had a warrant, the student told police he had been given a ticket but didn’t realize he had been arrested.

The student was transported to Pima County Jail and booked, reports stated.

Police have no suspects or witnesses to the damaged bulletin board, reports stated.

A student lost her $100 black zippered wallet sometime between Thursday and Friday in the School of Art building, 1030 N. Olive Road, reports stated.

The wallet had a white locket attached to it and contained $20 bills, reports stated.

The student said she had last seen her wallet at 4:30 p.m. March 2 and noticed it missing at 9 a.m. March 3.

The student said she hadn’t walked anywhere except from the School of Art building to her house.

A student was booked into Pima County Jail Saturday after police saw security escorting him from the stands during the basketball game in McKale Memorial Center, 1721 E. Enke Drive, reports stated.

Police walked to the stands and helped escort the male to a room where he was handcuffed, reports stated.

The security guard told police the student had been spitting in the direction of the University of Washington players.

The student admitted to spitting but said he had not hit anyone.

Police transported the student to Pima County Jail, where he was booked for disorderly conduct, reports stated.

A student was referred to the Dean of Students Office for disorderly conduct Saturday after he threw a water balloon into a student’s car while it was parked in the James E. Rogers Circle, 1303 E. University Blvd., reports stated.

Police saw four men running westbound on East Second Street at 10:48 p.m.

The first man ran past the patrol car and as the other three men chased him, they yelled, “”He hit us with a water balloon,”” reports stated.

Police turned around and followed the first man, who ran southbound near the John W. Harshbarger building, 1133 E. James E. Rogers Way.

Police told the man to stop and he said he had run after hitting a man with a water balloon, reports stated. The student said he had mistaken the man for his friend.

The other three men arrived and told police the student had thrown the water balloon into their vehicle while it was parked.

None of the men wanted to press charges, and they said the vehicle wasn’t damaged.

The student apologized to the men and was released, reports stated.
