A student caught urinating on a door leading into the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., was cited and released for underage drinking and criminal nuisance early Saturday morning, reports stated.
Police watched the student stop north of the U-Mart near the doors and begin urinating at 2:58 a.m., reports stated.
The student had red, watery eyes, reports stated.
As police spoke to the student, they observed he had slurred speech and staggered unsteadily, reports stated.
The student told police he had consumed five drinks earlier in the night and said, “”I should only have drank two,”” reports stated.
When asked why he had urinated in public, the student told police, “”I had to go – couldn’t hold it,”” reports stated.
A student was cited for underage drinking Sunday morning at 1:30 after police observed the head cook follow him out of Cellar, 1303 E. University Blvd., reports stated.
The cook told police the student was yelling at the kitchen staff.
Police approached the student and noticed an odor of alcohol coming from his mouth, reports stated.
The student spoke loudly and seemed excited as he spoke with police, reports stated.
When questioned by police, the student admitted to drinking earlier in the night, reports stated.
The student was cited and released, reports stated.
A student’s $200 iPod was stolen sometime between Thursday and Friday from the women’s locker room in the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St., reports stated.
The iPod had “”Music Makes Your Soul Sing”” engraved on the back, reports stated.
The student told police she went to get her belongings from her locker at 5 p.m. Thursday and left the Rec Center.
The student did not notice her iPod was missing until 2 p.m. Friday, reports stated.
The student believed the iPod could have fallen from her duffel bag because it had been partially open when she grabbed it from her locker, reports stated.
Police have no suspects or witnesses, reports stated.
A student was referred to the Dean of Students Office early Saturday morning for carrying a machete in his car after police saw him speeding eastbound on East Fourth Street, reports stated.
The student quickly applied his brakes as he approached the stop sign at North Park Avenue, reports stated. The vehicle slowed slightly before driving through the intersection and turning south onto North Park Avenue.
Police then observed the student quickly turn east onto East Fourth Street at a high rate of speed, reports stated.
Police caught up to the vehicle, and the driver quickly applied his brakes and came to a stop at the stop sign at North Santa Rita Avenue reports stated.
The vehicle sat still for a couple of seconds before the driver proceeded eastbound, reports stated.
Police activated their lights and pulled the student over, reports stated.
The student immediately put both of his hands out of the driver’s side window, reports stated.
Police approached the vehicle and asked the student if he had any weapons in the vehicle, reports stated.
The student told police he had a “”knife”” on the passenger seat.
Police observed a black sheath lying on the passenger seat in plain sight, reports stated.
The student was asked to hand it to police, who found a machete inside of the black material sheath, reports stated.
The student told police he had come to a complete stop at the intersection and didn’t understand why he had been pulled over.
When asked about the machete, the student told police he had purchased it at a gun show the previous weekend and had not removed it from his vehicle since the purchase was made.
The student told police he didn’t know he couldn’t have weapons on campus.
Police told the student his “”knife”” would worry a lot of people on campus, reports stated.
The student told police the “”knife”” was actually a machete used to cut down trees.
The student was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and was told to remove the machete from his vehicle when he went home, reports stated.
