Urination citation
A University of Arizona Police Department officer arrested a UA student for urinating in public on Sept. 27 at 11:39 p.m.
At approximately 11:27 p.m., an officer patrolling the area near a parking garage saw a student walk from a sidewalk to a loading dock area near the garage. As the officer got closer, he could hear what sounded like water hitting the ground.
As the officer approached the student urinating, the student turned around and said, “Oh man.”
The student said he was at a fraternity date dash and had a couple of shots. The officer noticed the student had watery, bloodshot eyes and smelled like alcohol.
The student also said he was recently arrested for minor in possession of alcohol and “other stuff.” He was given a citation for urinating in public and a code of conduct referral form was sent to the Dean of Students.
Hitchhiking fail
UAPD officers were called to investigate the break-in of a UA student’s vehicle on campus on Monday.
At 5:49 p.m., officers met with a student who said her car had been broken into in a parking garage. She told officers that at 2 p.m., she parked her car in the garage and was approached by an older man with a Spanish accent.
The man asked her for a ride to Nogales, Ariz. She said no and left her vehicle without locking her door.
At 4 p.m., she went back to her car and tried to start the ignition, but it wouldn’t turnover.
She looked and found damage to her ignition, though there was no other damage to the vehicle and nothing inside seemed to be missing.
The student said she thought the man tried to steal her car but couldn’t do it. Officers took photos of the vehicle.
Drunken mess
A UA student was taken to University of Arizona Medical Center for extreme intoxication after she was found in the passenger seat of a parked car on campus on Sunday at 3 a.m.
At about 2:40 a.m., a UAPD officer saw a man leaning over a woman, trying to get her in a car. The passenger seat was reclined back, and she appeared to be passed out.
The man then shut the door, locked it, and began to walk away. The officer approached the man to ask about the woman.
The man said he had taken her out of the house and to the car to help her feel better. He then walked back to his car and opened the door to let the woman out.
Still reclined, the woman began vomiting on herself. The officer called for medical assistance as the woman continued to throw up on herself.
The Tucson Fire Department arrived to evaluate the woman, and determined she needed to be taken to UAMC for immediate hospitalization.
At 6:10 a.m., once the woman was awake, she told officers that she had been drinking heavily and didn’t remember how she got so drunk.
A dean’s referral was submitted to the Dean of student’s office on behalf on the woman.
