Former Arizona golfer Justin Silverstein was hired as an assistant coach for the UA women’s golf team on Monday, newly hired head coach Laura Ianello announced.
Silverstein, who served as the volunteer assistant for the men’s golf team during the 2009-10 season under men’s head coach Rick LaRose, played for Arizona from 2005-09. He graduated in 2009 with a degree in regional development.
“”To continue my coaching career with the University of Arizona women is a wonderful opportunity,”” Silverstein said in a press release. “”The UA women have long been one of the best programs in the nation and I intend to work hard to stregthen that reputation.””
During his career at Arizona, Silverstein averaged a 74.83 score after coming to Tucson from Torrey Pines High School, where he led his team to two state titles.
