Above average
A UA student was diverted to the Dean of Students Office for minor in consumption of alcohol on Nov. 17 at 1:48 a.m. after he was seen leaning heavily on his friend near Villa del Puente Residence Hall.
A UAPD officer approached the student and noticed that he looked younger than 21. The officer asked the student to sit down and asked him his age and if he had been drinking. The student said he was 18 and that he drank “a little bit.”
As the officer tested the student for signs of intoxication, the student was unable to keep his head still and his eyes kept wandering.
The student said he usually drinks once every three to four weeks and only takes about two to three shots when he does. The student told the officer it was an above average night because it was his birthday but wouldn’t say how many shots he took at an off-campus house party.
The student was diverted to the Dean of Students Office.
Not clean enough
A non-UA affiliated man was banned from all UA libraries on Nov. 21 at approximately 9:30 a.m.
A UAPD officer responded to a report of an unwanted person at the UA Main Library. The officers met with a library staff member who said the unwanted man had been asked to leave the library on Nov. 13 and 16 due to his personal hygiene.
The staff member requested an exclusionary order because it was the third time the man was asked to leave. The officer asked the man to go outside with them. The man told the officers he showered and showed them the soap he used but said he had not washed his clothes.
The officer banned the man from all UA libraries for six months.
“The girl I love”
A UA student was arrested for two counts of domestic violence criminal damage on Nov. 23 at 3:52 a.m. after admitting to damaging two windows in Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall.
The on-duty resident assistant called UAPD to report an angry student who broke two windows on the ninth floor of the residence hall. An officer met with the student who said he and his girlfriend were arguing about him dancing with other girls at a party they were at earlier that evening.
The student said he was very upset and punched the interior window of the lounge and broke it. He then went to the corner of the lounge and punched the outer window breaking that one as well.
The student said he and his girlfriend have been dating a couple of months and that “she’s the girl I love.”
He was arrested for two counts of domestic violence criminal damage and transported and booked into Pima County Jail. A referral code of conduct was also sent to the Dean of Students Office on his behalf.
