The UA-Olympic tradition has been alive and well since 1960, when swimmer and UA student Patty Kempner won gold in the women's 400-meter relay.
This year's Olympics featured thirty athletes and coaches with ties to the UA. Some notable names participating were former softball players and national champions Jenny Finch, Caitlin Lowe and Lovieanne Jung, as well as coach Mike Candrea, former Gold Medalist swimmer Amanda Beard and All-American Lacey Nymeyer.
