Wildcat editor in chief declines forum invite

A human rights and peace activist said religious sensitivity should limit the boundaries of free expression at a forum yesterday attended by more than 100 students, alumni and community members. Moji Agha, a human rights and peace activist, used the public discussion on the Alumni Plaza to address issues surrounding the recent international turmoil stirred up by the publication of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad in Danish newspapers.

Hertzog garners 54 percent of vote; Tubbs disqualified

The Hertzog-Reinsch team took first place for both president and administrative vice president in the student government primary elections, meaning the student body must have seen a lot of yellow recently. "The school can expect to see a lot more yellow," said Jami Reinsch, referring to the yellow-themed campaign she shares with Erin Hertzog.

Mom seeks tougher laws after daughter's death

Although her daughter is gone, Jocelyn Combs hopes her death won't be in vain if the Arizona Legislature passes a bill tomorrow allowing jail time for drivers who cause deadly accidents while driving illegally. Comb's 20-year-old daughter Michelle Grace Combs, who was a UA retail and consumer sciences sophomore, died last October when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a car.

Joanna Masel packed the house with the first lecture Tuesday night, debating the usage of the terms "fact" versus "theory" with evolution and examining how it compares to intelligent design.

Step Show celebrates Black History Month

Crowds gathered around the main stage of the UA Mall to watch Sexy Soul Divaz, a UA multicultural group founded in 2004, perform hip-hop dances and step routines.

Tubbs disqualified for campaign violations

Sen. Rhonda Tubbs was disqualified from the student government elections last night, despite receiving more than 34 percent of the votes for the executive vice president position. Tubbs, who wasn't able to campaign because of elections code violations she received Monday, said she was disqualified because a friend posted "Vote Rhonda Tubbs" on an America Online instant messenger profile.

Reece tabbed for senate seat

After a month of debate among senators, Ty Reece was sworn in as senator by the ASUA supreme court yesterday, making the senate complete with all 10 members. Reece, who stepped down as an appropriations board director, assumed the role of senator yesterday after a month of debate between senators and a week of confusion over the Associated Students of the University of Arizona constitution.
