Protesters march near campus to demand end to Iraq war

More than 400 demonstrators turned out Saturday morning in a peaceful march calling for an immediate withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq. Protesters assembled in front of the Arizona State Museum, 1013 E. University Blvd., for a march to De Anza Park, located at the southeast corner of East Speedway Boulevard and North Stone Avenue, where participants listened to live music and impassioned speeches from local elected officials.

When you think of Halloween, the environment may not be the first thing that comes to mind. However, the Nature Conservancy is out to make Halloween eco-friendly by publishing a segment on their Web site called "Green Your Halloween.

Club Olympic games kick off

Time to show school spirit by cheering on the annual Club Olympics, which will be on the UA Mall beginning today. Club Olympics allows clubs and organizations around the UA to compete in different games and possibly earn more club funds. The money they earn can be used toward any club or organization event within club funding guidelines, said Jessica Anderson, Associated Students of the University of Arizona executive vice president.

"Campus is haunted," was the response from Michael Sutton, a custodial supervisor, when asked to relay stories about creepy occurrences at night. "It's not too bad when there's other people here, but when you're alone, you can definitely feel it," said Tony Hernandez, a custodian who has cleaned the Park Student Union for more than six years.
