Arizona introduced former Michigan and West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez as its next head football coach on Tuesday, and also announced the details of his five-year contract. Here’s how things break down:
Year 1: $1,450,000

Rodriguez is also paid $300,000 annually by Nike and IMG
The 48-year-old coach’s salary also includes a number of incentives.

Termination clauses:
If UA terminates the coach without cause then UA will pay the coach one-half of the sum of his then annual UA-funded compensation pro-rated over the remaining life of the contract.
If UA terminates the coach with cause then the coach will receive no additional pay beyond the termination date of his contract.
If coach leaves UA before the end of the contract trem then the coach will pay UA one-half of the sum of his then annual UA-funded compensation pro-rated over the remaining life of the contract.
