The Arizona soccer team is hitting the road this weekend to play No. 21 Gonzaga University on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. in Spokane, Washington. The Wildcats are hoping to continue a winning streak after beating Utah State University 1-0 last weekend. Arizona‘s current record is 3-1-3 while Gonzaga sits at 6-1-1

Arizona lost at home to the Bulldogs 1-0 back in 2021, and the only other matchup before that was a 1996 matchup that ended in a 6-2 win for the Wildcats. This poses to be a difficult game for the Wildcats, given that the Bulldogs currently sit at fourth in the nation for goals scored. In the 2023 season, Gonzaga already has a total of 30 goals and they average 3.75 per game.

Arizona’s Megan Chelf will be going head to head with Gonzaga midfielder Maddie Kemp. Kemp is fourth in Gonzaga women’s soccer program history for career assists with 13, and Arizona‘s defense is going to need to keep her covered at all times.
