Protestors chant in support of Palestine on the UA campus on Nov. 9 during the Walkout for Palestine. The rally began at Old Main and progressed with a march onto the Mall.
Shut it Down for Palestine, an international movement called upon by the Palestinian Youth Movement, called for communities to walkout for Palestine on Nov. 9. The rally was brought to the University of Arizona by several local organizations including the Tucson branch of Party for Socialism & Liberation; Arizona Palestine Solidarity Alliance; Tucson Tenants Union; Mass Liberation AZ; Tucson Peace Center; No Jail Deaths and Community Care Tucson. The Party for Socialism and Liberation recorded that over 1,500 students, faculty members, staff and community individuals of all ages and backgrounds joined the walkout and march.
