The University of Arizona gymnastics team went on the road, securing a victory over West Virginia University on Friday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m. in the Wildcats’ last Big 12 road meet of the season. Arizona posted a score of 195.300 while the Mountaineers scored 194.925.
Uneven bars
Arizona opened its road meet on bars, posting a 48.875. Emily Mueller, Aubrey Krohnfeldt and Sophie Derr all posted 9.80s. Elena Deets put up a 9.775.
Vault
Continuing on vault, the GymCats scored a 48.900. Derr started off the second rotation of the night strong, posting a 9.800. Abigayle Martin had the highest score on vault, posting a 9.825. Alysen Fears followed with a 9.775.
Floor exercise
The Wildcats scored a 49.050 in the third rotation of the night. Elizabeth LaRusso and Fears both posted a 9.800. Derr had her debut on floor, delivering a 9.775. Emma Strom led Arizona with an impressive 9.850. Mueller capped off the rotation, recording a 9.825 herself.
Balance beam
The GymCats finished with a 48.475 to end the night and secure the victory against West Virginia. Amelia Rock posted a 9.775 in her collegiate debut. Deets had the highest score on beam, posting a 9.900. Martin also contributed, scoring a 9.875.

Arizona will return home to face BYU in the Gymcats’ next meet in McKale Center on Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. on Princesses & Superheroes Day/Youth Day. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
