Arizona Arts Live is proud to announce their 2025-2026 events catalog. All across Tucson, performances of different styles and varieties will be showcased, ranging from elaborate silent puppet shows to a traveling circus in a food truck.
This epoch of art is unlike anything in history. Never before has there been so much diversity in artistic expression.
“This is research in [the] arts,” University of Arizona’s School of Arts Dean Hasan Elahi said. “What we do here is unique.”
There will be many shows at Centennial Hall, such as “Lila Downs: Dia de Muertos” on Oct. 19 and “Moana: Live-to-Film” on Nov. 9. However, Arizona Arts Live’s mission this year is to bring the arts to all of Tucson.
According to Arizona Arts Live Associate Vice President Chad Herzog, the Film Fest Tucson was a once-a-year event. Now, thanks to their partnership with Arizona Arts Live, the Film Fest Tucson will have monthly Sunday night screenings for the whole year. Keep an eye on their website for future events.
Another venue that has partnered with Arizona Arts Live is La Rosa. The new theater operating out of an old Benedictine chapel is set to open in October, with nine unique shows on top of a visit from the Kronos Quartet coming April 1.
Arizona Arts Live will also be partnering with The Tucson Studio and the Center Stage Academy of Arts to bring even more events to the public.
“We want new programs that stretch our imagination,” Herzog said.
A few performances that can do just that are the Blind Summit Theatre’s “Sex Lives of Puppets” starting Feb. 25 and Urland, with their March 24 production of “Formerly Known As.”
“Arizona Arts Live has played a part in almost every piece you see here in Tucson,” Herzog said.
“We are the only place in the entire country to host some of these shows,” Liz Pocock, chief executive officer of Startup Tucson, said.
Tucson is a diverse city, rich in culture and creativity. Thanks to Arizona Arts Live and associated communities, there’s performing arts for just about anyone.
