She did everything asked of her tonight, delivering a strong all-around performance off the bench, including a crucial 7-point surge in the fourth quarter. The freshman stepped up when Arizona needed her, showing poise and versatility beyond her experience.
While the outcome may not have been what the Bears had hoped for, they still had bright spots tonight, including great performances from a couple of stars. Sophomore guard Neenah George finished the night with 19 points, two rebounds and three assists. George hit clutch shots down the stretch of the game, cutting the lead down midway through the fourth quarter.
Junior forward Tatum West ended with 12 points, eight rebounds and one assist. She made a huge impact on the offensive glass to start the game, including getting back-to-back offensive rebounds before getting an opportunity in the first half. George and West kept their team competitive with clutch scoring and relentless effort. George’s timely buckets and West’s dominance on the boards gave their squad a fighting chance, showcasing the impact both players can make when the game is on the line.
By the end of the first quarter, Arizona clutched a slim 16-13 lead. The Wildcats only took one 3-pointer in the first quarter as Trammell ended the first with 6 points. Sophomore Erin Powell led the scoring for the Bears with 6 points.
