The University of Arizona women’s basketball team (10-8, 1-6 in Big 12) are looking to bounce back on the road against Iowa State University (15-5, 3-5 in Big 12). The Wildcats have lost three consecutive games and are hoping to take a roadside victory to snap the losing streak.

The teams have a short history, having met only twice. They first met in Jan. 1989 where Iowa State took the victory 71-61. Most recently, they played in Jan. 2025 in Tucson where Iowa State took another win 79-58.

Leading this season for the Wildcats is graduate guard Mickayla Perdue who has recorded 257 points and 36 3-pointers. Perdue averages 17.1 points per game. Following Perdue is Noelani Cornfield who has been essential for the team this season. She has collected 230 points averaging 12.8 per game.
Tanyuel Welch provides a presence on the boards with the most amount of rebounds totaling 91 while averaging 5.4 per game. She has also scored 162 points. Though it’s a big margin from Perdue and Cornfield, Welch has the third most points of anyone this season.
The Wildcats recently played University of Central Florida, No. 10 Texas Christian University and University of Kansas. Arizona fought hard throughout each game and were able to remain close to their opponents.
Iowa State this season & key players
Iowa State is currently ranked No. 11 in the Big 12 falling right behind University of Colorado, Boulder and Kansas State University. The front runner for the Cyclones is junior center Audi Crooks who so far has tallied 509 points this season. Junior guard Jada Williams is second with 272 points averaging 13.6 per game.
