No. 4 University of Arizona men’s basketball team (25-2, 12-2 Big 12) stays on the road in Texas to face Baylor University (14-13, 4-10 Big 12) on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m.
The Wildcats are coming into this game off of a big road win as they dominated No. 2 University of Houston on its home court on Saturday, Feb. 21. Arizona will be looking to pick up another victory before they return home to Tucson for their last two home games of the season.
History vs. Baylor
Baylor and Arizona met back during the 1947-48 season where the Wildcats took the first win 62-54. Since then, the teams have met 12 times total and Arizona took the win seven out of the 12 times. This is the first and only time they are playing during this conference season.
Arizona this season
Arizona recently suffered two consecutive losses against University of Kansas and Texas Tech University. They managed to make a strong comeback and get back in the winning column at home against BYU.
Following the BYU game, they traveled to No. 2 University of Houston and won in a major upset. They took the victory with two of their players missing, Koa Peat who’s out with a lower-body injury and Dwayne Aristode who was out due to illness.
After being out for his injury, Jaden Bradley surpassed Peat taking the spot with the second highest points this season with 364. Peat still averages more points than Bradley with 13.8 where Bradley averages 13.5. Brayden Burries still holds the top spot with 411 points averaging 15.2 points per game.
Baylor this season
Baylor is coming into this game after a 73-68 win against Arizona’s rivals ASU. This victory snapped a four game losing streak for the Bears.
Leading the Bears this season is redshirt sophomore guard Cameron Carr who has recorded 504 while averaging 18.7 points per game. Shortly behind Carr is freshman Tounde Yessoufou with 490 points. They are the outliers of the season as the next player Obi Agbim has 290 points for the season.
