No. 2 University of Arizona men’s basketball team (27-2, 14-2 in Big 12) looks towards their last home game of the season against No. 4 Iowa State University (24-5, 11-5 in Big 12) on Monday, March 2 at 8 p.m. MST.
This will be a close battle between the Wildcats and the Cyclones as they are both rounding out their conference seasons before they head to the Big 12 Tournament in a few weeks.
History vs. Iowa State
Arizona and Iowa have not played each other yet this season. They previously met almost a year ago to the day on March 1, 2025 where Iowa took the victory 84-67 on their home court. The teams have played each other nine times total, and Arizona has won five out of the nine times.
Cyclones this season
Iowa is coming into this game after a major upset loss against No. 16 Texas Tech University where the Cyclones lost 82-73. The Cyclones have been having a dominant season as they went 16-0 before falling to the University of Kansas in mid-January.
Junior forward Milian Momcilovic leads the way for Iowa with 506 points this season averaging 17.4 per game. Following Momcilovic is Joshua Jefferson with 486 points while averaging 16.8 per game.
Wildcats this season
This is the second game at home in this stretch for the Wildcats. They just won against No. 14 University of Kansas at home in a redemption 23 point blowout on Saturday, Feb. 28. This was a big win for the Wildcats after they came back from their Texas road trip where they swept both games too.
Freshman Brayden Burries remains at the top of the board for the Wildcats with 455 points this season while averaging 15.7 per game. Since Koa Peat was out due to injury, Jaden Bradley has stepped up behind Burries with 399 points averaging 13.8 per game.
The Wildcats suffered some illnesses and injuries among their team in the past few weeks, but the team is back at full strength and ready to conquer the rest of the season.
