The University of Arizona men’s basketball team defeated Morgan State by a score of 93-68 on December 22 at McKale center.
Arizona’s front court led the way again, combining for 47 points. Azuolas Tubelis was Arizona’s leading scorer with 26 points while adding nine rebounds on 9-`0 shooting from the field. Oumar Ballo was a perfect 8-8 from the field while scoring 21 points and grabbing six rebounds in the game.
“Oumar gets an A plus, he’s been incredibly consistent,” Lloyd said. “All in all I am really proud of Oumar.”
Pelle Larsson got off to a slow start this season but has been producing at a much higher level recently. In this game, Larsson did a little bit of everything. He finished the game with nine points, six rebounds and four assists. Larsson did have four fouls so he saw less minutes than normal.
“The one thing I know about Pelle is he might be a little bit of a slow starter but he’s a strong finisher” Lloyd said.
Arizona has eight days off before they head to Tempe, Arizona to face-off with their biggest rival, Arizona State University on December 31. The Sun Devils are now currently ranked No.25 in the latest AP Poll so this should be a great test for the Wildcats.
“I think this group knows how to win games and I think that’s an incredible skill and I also think our greatest strength is we have room to grow,” Lloyd said. “I don’t think we have come close to our ceiling yet.”
