Homecoming regulations mean ‘no fun’
After keeping myself up to date on all of the new regulations associated with this year’s Homecoming celebration, it seems as though the UA and its administrators are doing everything in their power to ensure that no fun is had by all.
As an alumnus and UA football fan, I feel these rules are discouraging a good time and, more significantly, alumni participation.
The administration’s shortsightedness is similar to fraternity “”crackdowns.”” How much money is raised at Homecoming for the university? How much of that money comes from former fraternity and sorority members? Look at all the buildings around campus – most have the names on them of alumni who were in the Greek system. I hope all alumni ask that they be removed from the university “”donor mailing list”” until we can celebrate and visit with fellow alumni without being nickeled and dimed while security officials breathe down our neck.
