    Police Beat

    A university employee reported vandalism outside the Flandrau Science Center, 1601 E. University Blvd., Feb. 28.

    Someone threw a grapefruit-sized rock through the windshield of a UA van between 4 p.m. Feb. 27 and 8 a.m. Feb. 28.

    Police have no suspects or witnesses.


    A UA student reported her red-and-white Victoria’s Secret book bag, Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, and two textbooks stolen from the UA Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd., Feb. 28.

    The theft occurred on the third floor while the student was using the restroom around 5:15 p.m.

    Police have no suspects or witnesses.


    A man was arrested for a felony warrant from Maricopa County after making an unsafe lane change at 5 p.m. Feb. 28.

    He was traveling eastbound on East Speedway Boulevard heading toward North Craycroft Road when police spotted the traffic violation.

    After police confirmed the warrant, the suspect was booked into Pima County Jail.


    A woman was arrested after police pulled her over for suspended plates while driving on North Campbell Avenue approaching East Speedway Boulevard at 8 a.m. March 1.

    The woman had two warrants, one from the Tucson Police Department for aggravated assault and one out of Arizona Department of Public Safety for driving under the influence.

    The suspect was cited for suspended plates and booked into Pima County Jail.


    A male student suffered a seizure and went unconscious at Roy P. Drachman Hall, 1295 N. Martin Ave., at 9 a.m. March 1.

    Paramedics were called to the scene and were able to revive and treat the student.

    The man chipped his front tooth on a table when he fell as a result of the seizure. The student takes medication for seizures but was recommended a change in dosage.


    A student reported his wallet stolen from the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd., Feb. 28.

    He said it was a black leather bi-fold wallet containing his CatCard, $20 in cash and other cards.

    The student said he left the wallet on a table at about 12:15 p.m. for about five minutes and when he returned, the wallet was gone.

    Police have no suspects or witnesses.


    The plastic windshield of a Papa John’s delivery golf cart was reported stolen from the Student Union Memorial Center, 1303 E. University Blvd.

    The woman who reported the incident said the theft occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Feb. 28 and 9 a.m. March 1.

    The woman, a representative from Papa John’s, said she had no idea who had stolen the windshield.

    Police have no suspects or witnesses.


    A student’s car was hit while parked at the Second Street Garage, 1340 E. Second St., March 1.

    The student parked her vehicle on the south side of the garage’s second level around 3 p.m.. When she returned at 5 p.m., the vehicle was damaged on the driver’s side rear door and the rear fender.

    Due to the height of the damage, it appeared that the tire of a truck or SUV caused the dent.

    A small sports car was parked next to the vehicle when the student parked her 1997 red Honda Civic in the garage and the spot was vacant when she returned.

    Police have no suspects or witnesses.


    A female student reported a DVD disc stolen from her dorm room at Pima Residence Hall, 1340 E. First St.

    The movie, “”Just My Luck,”” was stolen sometime between 3:15 a.m. Feb. 21, and noon Feb. 25, while the victim was out of town.

    The student told police that she did not lock her dorm room door before leaving town.

    Police have no suspects or witnesses.
