While speculation continues to mount on UA athletic director Jim Livengood’s head coaching search, one name is off the list for sure: Rick Pitino.
Pitino, Louisville’s coach rumored to be a possible candidate for Arizona’s coaching vacancy, told SI.com he is not considering succeeding Lute Olson.
Pitino led his No. 1-seeded Cardinals to an Elite Eight berth after beating the Wildcats in the Sweet 16.
“”I’m not a candidate for the Arizona job and I never was,”” he told SI.com’s Seth Davis on Wednesday. “”I am not interested in any job. I am definitely returning to the University of Louisville.””
