Junior linebacker Marquis Flowers has been named the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Pac-12 Player of the Week. Flowers is the second Wildcat recognized by the bowl next to Ka’Deem Carey.
Flowers is also the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. Through eight games, he has 55 total tackles, including 7.5 for a loss of 36 yards and 3.5 sacks for a loss of 26 yards. His line also includes two interceptions for 14 return yards, three forced fumbles and two passes broken up.
Flowers’ two interceptions made against USC on Saturday were the second and third of his career. His three forced turnovers were a part of a five turnover-day for the defense, which registered its most takeaways in a game since Aug. 31, 2008, against Idaho.
