      Start Family Weekend 2006 off right! Different student clubs, organizations and colleges will offer fun, games and information on your student’s life at the UA. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free. UA Mall
  • Open classes
    Come find out what your student does behind those classroom doors. A variety of classes will be open for parents to visit. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free. Throughout campus

  • College and school time
    Take the time to visit your student’s college/school to get to know the faculty and facilities that are offered. See schedule for location and times. Free. 11 a.m to 7 p.m.
  • Parents’ Association lunch and meeting
    All families are invited to the PA’s faculty luncheon. Faculty and UA President Robert Shelton will be in attendance. Noon. Free. Student Union Memorial Center, Grand Ballroom
  • Alumni Association reception
    Hosted by the Alumni Association, this reception gives you the opportunity to meet fellow Arizona alumni. Free. 3 p.m. Alumni Plaza
  • Faculty author book signing with wine and cheese

    This event allows you to meet UA’s nationally recognized authors. 5 p.m. Free. Student Union Memorial Center, UofA Bookstore

  • Residence hall mixers
    Stop by your student’s residence hall to meet his/her resident assistants and hall directors while meeting other students and their parents. Free. 5 p.m. Residence Halls
  • Hillel Center family Shabbat services and dinner

    Celebrate Shabbat with your student! 5:30 p.m. Dinner is $5 per student and $15 per nonstudent. UA Hillel Foundation

  • Murder mystery dinner theater
    UA students take the stage in a show that is to die for. $25. Location TBA
  • Symphony orchestra concert
    The UA Symphony Orchestra will be holding their first concert of the school year. 7 p.m. Free. Music building, Crowder Hall
  • Newman Center flashback swing dance

  • Film in the Flandrau

    • Recreation Center tournaments
      The winner of each tournament walks away with an Apple iPod Nano and the title of Family Weekend Champion! 9 a.m. $5. Student Recreation Center

  • First Phoenix Mission Operations Center open house
    Come check out the mission control for NASA’s next Mars mission. 11 a.m. Free. Phoenix Science Operations Center
