“On the spot: Danny Badio, pre-business freshman”

What got you started (doing music)?

I was always into music, you know, just growing up, hearing rap music in the house and all that. Me and my boys used to mess around and one day they noticed that I was really good so, yeah know, it’s been around. I’ve always been around music.

    When was your first concert?

My first concert was actually in high school, when I had my band, The Commonwealth. I think it was in eleventh grade. iIt was nice, I liked that. We had a lot of things going on there, it was nice.

So when’s your next show in Tucson?

My next show is gonna be in two weeks, I’m having a little mix-tape party slash concert thing.

    Where were you born originally?

Originally I’m from Liberia, that’s West Africa, and I moved to the states in 2000 and I started living in Virginia, but yeah, I’m Liberian.

Nice, what brought you out to Tucson?

School … I was in Florida going to school there … and I decided that I wanted to stay in school … so I’m looking at business while I’m here in Tucson.

What do you want to do with your music career in the next few years? What are you looking to accomplish?

I’m just into making good music, I’m trying to get more people to appreciate my kind of music ’cause I think that what I have to offer is crazy and people should hear it. You know what I mean? I’m just trying to make music and do more shows, and you know, just keep working. Hopefully in a couple of years I can be in a position where I could be a household name, but for the right things, you know? In the next couple years I’ll be chillin’ doin shows and stuff…kicking it with girls.
