    Journalists to address immigration reporting

    The Learning Institute for Working Journalists will feature a presentation today about reporting on immigration.

    The presentation and reception today will be at 5 p.m. in the CǸsar E. Chǭvez building, Room 110.

    The topic of the event is “”Immigration: An Issue of Image and Identity.””

    One speaker is Don Bartletti, a Los Angeles Times photojournalist and 2003 Pulitzer Prize winner. Bartletti will present a slide show and discussion of his award-winning work, “”Enrique’s Journey: The Boy Left Behind.””

    The other presenter is Otto Santa Ana, an associate professor at UCLA.

    The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the College of Humanities, the Mexican American Studies and Research Center and the McCormick Tribune Foundation.

    Women’s hockey team to hold fundraiser Thursday

    The Icers, the Arizona women’s hockey team, is holding an ice skating night fundraiser on Thursday.

    Students and community members are invited to attend the skate night from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

    The skating will take place at Polar Ice Tucson, 7333 E. Rosewood Street, near Speedway and Kolb.

    The event costs $6 and includes skate rental as well as two hours of skating.

    Team members will be present at the event, and partial proceeds will help generate funds for the team.
