BRIEF: Four teens involved in Salmon Creek rollover wreck

Four teenagers on their way to Skyview High School were involved in a single-car rollover wreck this morning near the intersection of Northwest 36th Avenue and Northwest Creekside Drive.

Clark County Fire District 6 was dispatched to the wreck at about 7:40 a.m., said Dawn Johnson, a spokeswoman.

All four teens, three females and a male, were out of the car when firefighters arrived.

The driver, a female, told firefighters she was coming down the hill when a car veered into her lane and she had to swerve to avoid it. She identified herself to a Columbian photographer as Alyssa Dawkins, 17.

Dawkins said she struck a pothole and lost control. The car rolled several times, about 50 feet down an embankment near the Salmon Creek Greenway until it came to rest on its wheels.

The driver of the other vehicle continued on without stopping.

All four were wearing seatbelts, Johnson said. Two females were transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center to be treated for what were believed to be minor injuries. The other teens’ identities were not available.

Dawkins and the male were picked up at the scene by their parents.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
