    3 things to know today

    National Bone Marrow Registry drive

    The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association will hold a bone marrow registry drive today to recruit donors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Medical Center Cafeteria, Room F. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 60 who meets the health guidelines can register.

    Try out for a reality show

    Students can audition for the online One Less Stress reality series today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the UA Mall. Participants can share how they deal with stress at Neutrogena’s One Less Stress Mobile Studio, and 24 winners from across the nation will be flown to New York City to be featured on the show.     Stem-cell therapy has cardiac benefits

    Stem-cell therapy provides benefits for heart attack patients, according to a study by U.S. researchers in the Austin (Texas) Business Journal. Six-month data from 10 sites shows heart attack patients who received Provacel therapy had improvements in heart and lung function, compared to those who received a placebo. Hospitals will continue their research this year.
