• The Maloof family, owners of the Sacramento Kings, have agreed on a deal to sell the franchise for $525 million to a Seattle-based group. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is working on presenting a counteroffer to keep the Kings in the California capital.
• After a whole Sunday’s worth of football, the Baltimore Ravens will play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3. This will be the first time in NFL history that two head coach brothers will battle it out for the championship.
• Lance Armstrong had his interview, now it’s Manti Te’o’s turn. Te’o and his parents will be interviewed by Katie Couric, time and place yet to be determined, as well as whether Te’o will own up to a mistake or insist on the hoax.
• Serena Williams gives 19-year-old American Sloane Stephens some tough love, and the two will play against each other on Wednesday in the Australian Open.
• The performance of Pac-12 basketball could affect Arizona’s ability to move up in the rankings. With a less competitive schedule than some of the other highly-ranked teams, NCAA selection committees might weigh less consideration on the Wildcats.
