Over the past four midterm elections, the voter turnout of the “”youth”” demographic – 18- to 24-year-olds – has been nothing to be proud of, hovering at a paltry 21 percent. But according to recent poll results released by Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, this year could represent a turnaround, with record numbers of the youth demographic stating their intention to vote. A solid 32 percent of poll respondents stated that they “”definitely would be voting,”” and 75 percent said they might.
Let’s make it happen. Get to the polls today, if you haven’t already taken advantage of the UA’s early polling site or mail-in ballots. This year is the year to show that the youth demographic isn’t the apathetic bunch we’re sometimes presumed to be.
Make your voice heard. Go vote.
