Arizona senior Nic Wise is among a list of 72 players up for the 2010 Bob Cousy Award, given to the country’s best point guard from three divisions of college basketball.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced the list that only contains two Pacific 10 Conference players, Wise being one.
At 5-foot-10, 177 pounds Wise is averaging 16 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game while leading the young Wildcats to a 4-5 start to the season. He is shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 94.7 percent from the free throw line.
The list will be cut down to 20 players on Jan. 1, 2010. The winner will be named April 5 as part of the NCAA Tournament Final Four activities in Indianapolis.
