    Women’s swim tied

    After one day of competition the No. 7 Arizona women’s swim team is tied for first place at the Pacific 10 Conference Championships.

    The Wildcats took Long Beach, Calif., by storm and are currently sharing the top spot with No. 6 California.

    The Arizona “”A”” team took first place in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of seniors Marshi Smith and Erin Sieper and freshmen Lara Jackson and Anna Turner recorded the speedy time of 1:39.60.

    In the 800y freestyle relay, the Arizona “”A”” team of juniors Whitney Myers, sophomore Courtney Cashion, senior Jenna Gresdal and sophomore Lacey Nymeyer clocked in a second place time of 7:10.00.

    The Wildcats will take to the pool for the second day beginning at 11 a.m. today.

    The scheduled events included the 500y freestyle, 200y individual medley, 50y freestyle and 200y freestyle relay, in addition to the 1m diving finals that will take place separately in Federal Way, Wash.
