Joint Chiefs of Staff’s chairman to visit UA

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the senior-ranking member of the U.S. Armed Forces, will hold a town hall-style meeting from 3 to 4 p.m. in Centennial Hall.

Adm. Michael G. Mullen became chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in October 2007 and now serves as the primary military advisor to the president. Mullen will deliver a prepared statement, followed by a public question-and-answer session.

Specifically, Mullen will address security challenges in Southern Arizona and how the community can interact with members of the armed forces returning from overseas.

The event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are recommended.
