The New England Patriots drafted former Wildcat tight end Rob Gronkowski as the 42nd overall pick of the NFL Draft on Friday. Gronkowski’s name was called as the 10th pick of the second round,
Gronkowski was on site at the 75th NFL Draft at the Radio City Music Hall in New York.
The junior did not play the 2009-2010 season for the Arizona Wildcats due to a back injury.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pound Amherst, N.Y., native was and All-Pacific 10 Conference tight end and a third-team AP All-American in 2008.
He had 16 touchdowns with 75 receptions for 924 yards in his career at Arizona.
