    3 Things to know today

    Tuition setting today

    The Arizona Students’ Association is encouraging students to attend the Arizona Board of Regents meeting in support of the student tuition proposal. The student proposal calls for a 2.3 percent tuition hike, while President Robert Shelton is asking for a 6.5 percent increase. The meeting will be today at 1 p.m. in the North Ballroom of the Student Union Memorial Center, and tuition will be set at 2 p.m.

    Calling all commencement volunteers

    Volunteers are needed for the December commencement ceremony. Volunteers will escort graduates and monitor behavior. Rehearsal will be Dec. 15 at 3 p.m., and the ceremony will be Dec. 16 at 8 a.m. Volunteers will receive 20 percent off at the UofA Bookstore. For more information, callÿ621-2782.

    Regents and distinguished professors to be inducted

    Four UA faculty members will be inducted as regents professors today at 4:30 p.m. in Crowder Hall. The four are Carol Barnes, a professor of psychology, Mary Koss, a professor of family and consumer medicine, Toni Massaro, dean of the College of Law, and Mark Nichter, a professor of anthropology.
