The register system in the Arizona Student Unions went down at around 3 p.m. but are now working, according to Joel Hauff, interim director of Arizona Student Unions.
Hauff said the register network in general has been having problems, and that cash registers have been affected by these problems. The network was going up and down sporadically. The union staff and University Information Technology Services fixed the “unknown problem,” he said.
In place of the register system, union food service employees wrote out receipts to collect information so they can charge customers after the system is fixed. Each employee must write down the date, amount of the purchase, the location of the purchase, the students CatCard number, the employee’s name and the customer’s signature.
Destiny Pina, an employee at Core in the Park Student Union, said the register problems were “so frustrating.”
