There’s nothing better to get your mind off schoolwork and the impending finals crunch than a world beyond reality. This is not your imagination we’re talking about; it’s the movies.
Invite your friends to join you for an evening of movie mayhem and make a party out of it. Talk to your group of invitees and figure out flicks to put on the menu. One creative option is to figure out some movies only one person in the group has seen. You’ll be surprised at what your buddies have been missing out on.
Another great way is to go with a theme. Some possibilities: action genre B-movies, the entire Star Wars or Lord of the Rings lineup, movies starring Hugh Grant or movies starting with the letter Q.
Stock up on popcorn, chips and dip, sweets and drink varieties of your choice. Strew pillows and blankets around the viewing area – typically a living room or bedroom, but you can get creative and have the party on the roof or in the backyard if you’re daring, it’s not too cold and you have a long extension cord.
Have guests come over early enough to get through all the movies you have scheduled without cutting into an entire weekend or the next day’s classes. After all, you do have to go back to the real world at some point.
