The Arizona Daily Wildcat won two awards, along with four honorable mentions, from the Arizona Newspapers Association at the annual Better Newspapers Contest in Phoenix Saturday.
In the category of nondaily newspapers with circulation greater than 10,000, the Wildcat came in second place for page design excellence and second place for best use of photography.
The Wildcat also received honorable mentions for editorial page excellence, community service/journalistic achievement, special section/newspaper supplement or magazine and newspaper online site/Web page.
The Payson Roundup won 2006 Newspaper of the Year in the nondaily division, while the East Valley Tribune won 2006 Newspaper of the Year in the daily division.
