The game that was set to take place on Sunday, Nov. 29 between the University of Arizona and the University of Texas at El Paso in Tucson, Arizona in McKale Center has been postponed after a positive COVID-19 test was found within the Miners basketball program.
This is Arizona’s second game to be postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test after Wednesday’s season opener against NAU was cancelled after a positive test was found within the Lumberjacks program.
“This news is very disappointing to the student-athletes, coaches and fans,” the UA said in a release Friday. “However, health and safety must remain our top priorities as we move forward this season.”
It is currently unknown if the game will be made up. The next game on the Wildcats schedule is against Colorado on Dec. 2 in Tucson.
